Bulldogs Drop to Five Despite Big Win on Friday

Madison is coming off of their first win of the season, getting a dominant 41-6 win in Milbank last Friday night. However, despite the strong performance from the Bulldogs, they still continue to fall in the SDFBCA Coaches Poll.

The Bulldogs started the year off ranked as the top team for 11A in the coaches poll, but dropped to four last week after their 33-14 loss to Dell Rapids.

They then came back the following week looking better than they had a week prior, though the coaches’ poll may not reflect that as they dropped to five in the poll.

Dell Rapids, who replaced Madison as the number one team a week ago, dropped to the second spot in favor of West Central, who Madison hosts this week. There was a tie for third between Canton and Beresford.

A full look at the coaches polls for all conferences across South Dakota can be found at the bottom of this story.

This Friday, Madison will have a chance to prove they deserve to be higher in the poll when they host West Central on September 9th.
