Both Madison Basketball Seasons Start Today

This afternoon will be the first time either Madison basketball team steps on the court this season, when both the boys and girls Bulldogs teams travel to play Elk Point-Jefferson.

The girls team for Madison was originally scheduled to start the season on Thursday, however their game against Dell Rapids was postponed due to weather. This afternoon’s game for the boys is the original season opener for the boys.

Madison Boys opened up last season with a win over Elk Point-Jefferson, as did the girls team, and both teams will be hoping to replicate that today.

A year ago, the Bulldogs boys team finished with a 10-13 record, ending their season in the SODAK 16 with a 68-50 loss to Dakota Valley. Meanwhile, the girls team for Madison only won three games last year, including the season-opener, while losing six-straight to end the year.

The first game this afternoon for Madison against Elk Point-Jefferson is the girls game, which will start at 3:30pm. Then the boys will follow at 5pm tonight.
