Another 24 COVID-19 deaths are being reported in the state Thursday, bringing the state’s overall total number of virus-related deaths to 1488.  Two of the deaths are in area counties – McCook and Brookings. 

Meanwhile, the state Department of Health is also reporting 445 new positive COVID-19 cases.  The state’s overall total number of positive cases is now at just more than 99-thousand.  There are currently just under 57-hundred active COVID-19 cases, and 297 people are hospitalized because of the virus.

Lake County reports another five positive COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the county’s overall total number of positive cases to 1020.  The county has 948 recovered cases, and 16 COVID-19 deaths.  Lake County currently has 56 active coronavirus cases.

Elsewhere in our area, McCook and Kingsbury Counties each report 38 active COVID-19 cases, Moody County has 31, and Miner County reports 18 active cases.  Brookings County currently has 212 active COVID-19 cases.
