The Lake County Commission re-elected it’s Chair and Vice-Chair for the commission for this year during its first meeting of 2022 on Tuesday.  Commissioners re-elected Kelli Wollmann to serve as Chair of the Commission and Aaron Johnson as Vice-Chair for this year.

Also during Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners approved their meeting dates and times for the year, which is the first and third Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m., with a few exceptions this year because it’s an election year.  The commission also approved county employees’ salaries for 2022, which included a three-percent increase for all employees and 33 employees received an additional adjustment. The county’s 2022 board appointments, department liaisons, and other appointments were also approved during Tuesday’s meeting.  The commission approved adding Commissioner Adam Leighton as the liaison for the county Auditor’s Office, and approved the appointment of Mark Ferber of Madison to serve a three year term on the county’s Planning and Zoning Board.

Also during Tuesday’s meeting, county commissioners approved inmate housing contracts with Miner and Sanborn counties.  They also approved the hiring of Jason Oostra as a full-time Correctional Officer for the Sheriff’s Office and County Jail, effective December 29th, and the termination of Hunter Eggert as a Correctional Officer, effective December 28th.Â
