Governor Noem is skeptical about projections

Fiscal analysts from the Legislative Research Council and the Bureau of Finance and Management estimated the state will collect about one hundred million dollars more in state taxes next year.  Governor Kristi Noem said she is not comfortable with those projections.

A bill has been introduced to reduce the state sales tax by a half percent.  Noem said she has not yet decided whether to support that proposal.

Legislators return to Pierre Tuesday after the extended President’s Day holiday weekend.
