Fourteen COVID-19 deaths reported statewide on Monday

Fourteen additional COVID-19 deaths were reported by the state Department of Health on Monday, including three in area counties.  McCook, Kingsbury, and Brookings counties each reported one more of their residents had died with COVID-19.  The total number of COVID-19 deaths reported by the state Department of Health is now at 2371 since the start of the pandemic more than a year and a half ago. 

Active cases increased some in area counties also on Monday.  Lake County reported 88 active COVID-19 cases, Moody County had 91, and McCook County reported 59 active cases.  

Statewide, active COVID-19 cases increased to close to 77-hundred, and 246 people were hospitalized with the virus.Â
