Dakota State University in Madison is hosting a free virtual teach camp for K-thru-12 teachers Monday and Tuesday.

This camp is a continuation of what some of the DSU faculty have done since the spring.

Throughout April and May, professors and instructors held online Zoom classes to offer tips about virtual teaching and resources for parents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Kevin Smith, DSU assistant professor of mathematics education and coordinator of the Master of Science in Educational Technology program, said that as educators continue to adjust to changes related to COVID-19, DSU modified their annual summer camps for educators to be offered online. Smith said that DSU Camp Teach is a combination of DSU STEAM Camp and the Trauma Sensitive Teaching Conference.

Ben Jones, South Dakota Secretary of Education, will begin the conference as a featured speaker.

Each day will offer nine different session options for attendees to choose from. Â
