City commission seeking proposals for Generator Plant Operating System update

The Madison City Commission approved a Request for Proposals for an operating system for the Madison Generation Plant. During their meeting Tuesday, commissioners heard from the city’s Utility Director Brad Lawrence about the request.  Lawrence requested approval by commissioners for justification of using the sealed proposal request method instead of sealed bids.

Lawrence said that the proposal is for the installation of a new operating system and interface between the station computer terminal and the engine management system at the city’s generation plant.

Lawrence said this update will be easier for everyone to use.

Commissioners approved the Request for Proposals for the Generator Plant Operating System update, with proposals due by April 8th. Â
