Trojans Volleyball Wins Academic Award

The United States Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Monday, July 18th, that more than 1200 collegiate and high school volleyball teams have earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award this season, and Dakota State Univeristy’s volleyball team was one of the recipients.

This award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.

Dakota State, under the guidance of head coach Amy Veenhof, is one of the 57 teams from the NAIA division that received the 2021-22 USMC/AVCA Academic Team Award. It marked the fourth time in DSU volleyball program history that they received the team academic award, last winning the award in 2017 (2001, 2016, 2017, and 2022).
