Trojans Return Home Tonight to Face Off Against Rival DWU

The Dakota State Trojan men’s basketball team (3-4 overall record, 0-0 NSAA conference record) returns home tonight for the first time since October 29th at DSU Fieldhouse. The Trojans host long-time rival Dakota Wesleyan (2-5 overall record) with a 7pm tip-off.

DSU split a pair of games against a pair of Frontier Conference teams in the Sam Milanovich Classic in Dickinson, ND, during the Thanksgiving break. The Trojans fell short to Rocky Mountain 81-71 on November 25th, but they followed that up with an 82-68 victory over Montana Western squad, coached by former Trojan men’s basketball athlete and assistant coach Mike Larsen, on November 26th.

Dakota Wesleyan is coming off from a 71-65 road setback at Mount Marty.

The Trojans are seeking to snap their nine-game losing skid in the all-time series meeting with Dakota Wesleyan. The last time DSU defeated DWU was on January 2nd, 2017, when they defeated the Tigers, No. 12 at that time, by a score of 76-67 at the DSU Fieldhouse.

The game tonight against DWU will wrap up the month of November for the Trojans before they open their 14-game NSAA schedule on Saturday, visiting their traveling partner Bellevue (6-4 overall record). Tip-off from the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center is set for 5pm in Bellevue, Nebraska.
