Trojans Return Home This Weekend

Dakota State Basketball returns to the DSU Fieldhouse tonight after being on the road the last two weeks. The Trojans begin their four-game home stand this evening with rematches against Waldorf.

The women’s team for DSU is looking to remain undefeated in the month of January, winning six straight conference games since the start of the new calendar year. The Trojans are currently 16-5, and 6-1 in the NSAA as they get ready for their second straight game against Waldorf, having beaten the Warriors 86-57 last Saturday.

The Trojans had a dominating victory against Viterbo last weekend as well, winning 75-43. The two teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon.

DSU will be looking to remain undefeated at home this season, as they currently are 6-0 from the DSU Fieldhouse.

For the DSU men’s basketball team, they are 8-13 this season and 2-5 in NSAA play.

The Trojans are coming off of two losses last weekend against Waldorf and Viterbo and will look to avoid getting swept by both teams tonight and tomorrow. DSU lost a heartbreaker at Viterbo last Friday night, 61-60, before a 89-79 loss on Saturday against Waldorf.

Dakota State had won the last two home meetings with the Warriors, including an 80-63 victory on January 21st, 2022. Meanwhile, they are seeking their first win over Viterbo since February 3rd, 2018, at the DSU Fieldhouse.

Games this weekend start tonight at 5:30pm with the women’s team hosting Waldorf first before the men play directly after. Then both teams will wrap up the weekend tomorrow against Viterbo with the women playing at 3pm and the men at 5pm.
