Trojans Earn NSAA Basketball Honors

The NSAA announced their basketball season awards and All-Conference teams, with a number of Trojans on both mens and womens teams getting honored.

From the men’s team, Sam Muller was selected to the NSAA All-Conference Second Team, and was also named to the Newcomer-of-the-Year award. 

Taylor Edwards was DSU’s recipient of the NSAA Men’s Basketball Champions of Character award.

The women’s team had six individual’s honored during the conference’s awards presentation.

A pair of Trojans were named to the NSAA All-Conference First Team, Elsie Aslesen and Savannah Walsdorf. 

Aslesen became a three-time NSAA Women’s Basketball All-Conference selection, including First Team in 2020-21. She was also voted as the NSAA Women’s Basketball Defensive Player-of-the-Year.

Courtney Menning landed a spot on the NSAA All-Defensive Team, and Sidney Fick was named as a conference honorable mention. Fick was also named to the NSAA’s Champions of Character recipient for DSU.

Caitlyn Dyer was voted as the NSAA Freshman of the Year for DSU. 

Trojans Head Coach David Moe was named as the league’s Coach-of-the-Year for the fourth consecutive year after guiding the Trojans to their third straight NSAA regular-season title.
