Peyton Groft Reaches Career Milestone in DSU Volleyball Loss to Dickinson State

DSU’s Peyton Groft reached a career milestone on Saturday afternoon, in a 3-2 road loss to Dickinson State. Prior to the match, Groft was two digs shy of becoming the all-time digs leader at DSU. She made that accomplishment in the first set, surpassing Sonja Kamrud, who set the record with 2,086 career digs from 1996-99.
DSU lost the opening set to the Blue Hawks, but rallied to force a 5th set. Dickinson won that set 15-7 to take the match, and drop Dakota State to 11-11 overall record and a 2-3 record in North Star matches. Dickinson State improved to 3-15 overall record and 1-4 in the NSAA. DSU will visit in-state rival Mount Marty in Yankton on Tuesday night. The junior varsity match starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity match at 7 p.m.
