Senior Josh McGreal hit the 1,000 point career milestone on Wednesday night, but it was not enough as Dakota State fell to in-state rival Dakota Wesleyan 81-63 at the Corn Palace. It was a back and forth affair during the first 15 minutes of the contest before the host Tigers used a 17-6 run to lead 48-32 at the break. DWU held the Trojans at arms length for most of the second half, as they shot a sizzling 52.5% in the contest.

It was the 175th all-time meeting between the two sides. The Tigers outscored the Trojans in the paint, 44-16. McGreal led Dakota State with 24 points, Gavin Schipper had 12 points and Jordan Lynn finished with nine points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Dakota State will look for their first victory of the season on Saturday, as they host Bellevue in a Men’s/Women’s doubleheader. Action can be heard on FM103.
