Farland Named Runner-of-the-Week for a Third Time

Cody Farland of Dakota State collected his third NSAA Men’s Cross-Country Runner-of-the-Week honor on Tuesday, the conference office announced its sixth installment of the cross-country weekly honors.  

It was his third time this season that he had received the weekly honor from the North Star conference with the other two times being on September 6th and September 13th.

Farland produced a career best time of 25 minutes, 33.82 seconds where he finished 18th in Holiday Inn Express Classic, hosted by Dordt in Sioux Center. His time is the 18th fastest time in DSU men’s cross-country program history.

A total of 164 runners completed the 8K race field in the Holiday Inn Express Classic. DSU finished seventh as a team with a low score of 157 points. The Trojans defeated all South Dakota collegiate teams in the race including Dakota Wesleyan, Mount Marty, and NCAA Division II Sioux Falls. 

Dakota State takes a week off before wrapping up their cross-country regular-season schedule on Saturday, October 22nd. The Trojans run in the Mount Marty Invitational at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton, SD.
