Evdos named to NFCA NAIA All-Region First Team

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced Friday afternoon the 147 student-athletes from 62 schools who comprise the 2022 NFCA NAIA All-Region teams.  Michelle Evdos of Dakota State was voted to Region III First Team Designated Player/Utility/Non-Pitcher position.

The awards honor student-athletes from the Association’s six regions with selections to one of two teams. NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region.  All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the two NFCA NAIA All-America squads, which will be announced on June 7.

Evdos, a freshman from Parker, Colorado, led the team with 67 hits, 20 doubles, and 43 RBIs.  She was .462 at the plate and scored 31 times. She added four home runs, two triples, and registered a team-leading .710 slugging percentage. Evdos reached base by a walk 18 times and recorded an on-base percentage of .524.

Evdos produced the second most hits and RBIs for a single season in Trojan softball history.  She posted the third best single season in both batting average and doubles while tying for third most single season total bases with 103. Evdos’ slugging percentage is the fourth best single season in DSU softball history.
