DSU’s “Frosty” Named Special Teams Player-of-the-Week

After a big first game for him in the return game last week, Tamareon “Frosty” Foster earned the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week honors for Week One by the NSAA.

Holding a slim 14-12 lead over rival Dakota Wesleyan in the early fourth quarter of the Ag Bowl, Foster returned a 93-yard kick-off for touchdown to stretch the Trojans’ lead to 20-12 with a little over 12 minutes left. The touchdown became a huge momentum swing for the Trojans in the final quarter.

The Trojans went on to defeat the Tigers 29-19 in the Seventh Annual Ag Bowl, and was DSU’s sixth straight win over DWU, the longest winning streak since 1977-84 when the Trojans had won eight consecutive meetings.

Foster, a 5-foot-10 and 175lb. freshman defensive back, finished the game with four kick-off returns for 157 yards.  He averaged 39.3 yards per kick-off return.

DSU will play its first road game this Saturday when they travel to play Wisconsin-La Crosse. Kick-off is set for 4 pm at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
