DSU’s Farland Named as a Runner-of-the-Week

The first week of Cross Country is in the books, and Dakota State had one of their runners be named a Runner-of-the-Week, with Cody Farland being chosen as the men’s Runner-of-the-Week by the NSAA.

Farland clocked a time of 20 minutes, 51.6 seconds in the 4-mile run for DSU in a packed NCAA Division II Augustana Twilight meet. The meet featured numerous collegiate levels from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and NJCAA.

He was the seventh best NAIA runner in the 300-plus runner’s field.  Farland finished 83rd overall in the race.

Madison Nelson of Bellevue was selected as the women’s Runner-of-the-Week.

Farland and the Trojans will be back this Saturday, September 10th, when they host their  annual home meet, the 20th annual Herb Blakely Invitational.
