DSU Women’s Cross Country Picked Fourth in Preseason Poll

The 2022 NSAA Women’s Cross-Country Coaches Preseason Poll was announced earlier this week, and Dakota State was picked to finish third in the poll.  

The league head coaches were allowed to vote for their own team in the preseason poll.

Dickinson State, last year’s regular-season champion, edged Viterbo by two points to claim the top spot. The Blue Hawks earned three first place votes with 32 points, followed by V-Hawks second with two first-place votes and 30 points.

The Trojans picked up the final first place votes and tallied 23 points to finish third in the poll.  

Dakota State makes their 2022 season debut on Friday, Sept. 2 in the Augustana Twilight meet at Yankton Trails Park in Sioux Falls, SD. Two runners from last year, Jada Anderson and Saddie Palmquist, are returning to the team for this season.

The NSAA Cross-Country Championships will be held at Heart River Golf Course in Dickinson, ND on Friday, November 4th.

The team winner of the conference meet will earn the NSAA’s automatic bid for the 2022 NAIA Women’s Cross-Country National Championships. The national meet is held at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida. on November 18th.
