The Dakota State Women’s Basketball Team came up a little bit short in the road battle with #5 Dordt, falling 91-76 on Monday night. DSU held a 13-9 advantage in the first quarter before the Defenders used a 10-0 scoring run and led 22-20 after one. Dordt would control the second quarter and built their lead to 42-32 at halftime. 

DSU came out with a 13-2 scoring run to begin the second half and led 45-44. Dordt answered with a run of their own and held a 53-49 advantage before tipping the game heavily in their favor, out-scoring Dakota State 17-2 over the final minutes of the third quarter to lead 70-51. The Defenders, on their home court, never led by less than 14 points in the final frame on their way to victory.

Sidney Fick and Jessi Giles each had 14 points for the Trojans, while Morgan Koepsell and Lindsey Vogl had 13 a piece. DSU fell to 2-5 on the season and will be back in action this Saturday, opening up conference play versus Bellevue at the DSU Fieldhouse.
