DSU WBB’s Jessi Giles Selected to CoSIDA All-Academic First Team in NAIA

The College Sports Information Directors of America (or CoSIDA) announced the 2021-22 Academic All-America women’s basketball team for the NAIA on Wednesday. Dakota State’s Jessi Giles was named to the All-Academic First Team. The senior guard was the lone repeat selection, earning her second honor.

Giles, who is the back-to-back conference Player of the Year, helped the women’s basketball team to their second straight North Star title in February. She averaged 17.2 points per game, scoring a single-season school record 603 points, and became the DSU women’s basketball all-time leading scorer, finishing the season with 1,955 points.

The Trojans had their season end last weekend at the hands of Rocky Mountain College, losing 89-73 in the second game of the opening round of the NAIA Tournament. DSU was 27-8 and 13-1 in conference games in 2021-22.
