DSU Track and Field Took Part in USD Early Bird Meet This Past Weekend

On Saturday, both DSU track and field teams competed in the USD Early Bird meet in Vermillion.

Treshawn Roberts placed and hit the NAIA ‘B’ provisional qualifying mark and career best 55.16 meters in the javelin throw. Joe Lynch was the top NAIA finisher in the high jump. He achieved 1.96 meters which was a seventh place finish. Taking eighth place in the hammer throw was Conner Tordsen. He tossed 53.21 meters for the second farthest throw in DSU history. He also finished ninth in discus.

Josie Wolf clocked in at 12.80 seconds in the 100-meter dash. This was the top NAIA time. Jennifer Giles also had the best NAIA time of the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:31.30. In her collegiate debut, Saddie Palmquist had a time of 2:36.91 in that same event.

Dakota State heads to Sioux City, Iowa for the 2022 Sioux City Relays. The two-day meet starts Friday and Saturday at Olsen Stadium on the campus of Morningside.
