Playing in their second and final exhibition game of the season, the DSU Men’s Basketball team dropped a road game to Black Hills State 91-53 in Spearfish. The two sides started slow, with each team picking up a bucket in the first few minutes of play. The host Yellow Jackets then built up an advantage of 20-4 with 13 minutes left in the first half. DSU was able to trim that lead to 10 points later on, but trailed 45-27 at halftime.

BHS maintained and built upon their lead in the second half on the way to victory. Black Hills shot 58 percent from the floor in the game and outrebounded DSU 45-17. Gare Ewefada led the Trojans with 22 points and Brady Van Holland added 10 off the bench. Dakota State stands at 3-8 on the season and will open up NSAA play on Saturday, a part of a Mens/Womens doubleheader versus Bellevue University.
