The Dakota State Women’s basketball team met Providence, MT Saturday evening in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament.  The Lady Trojans raced to a 42-24 halftime lead but had to hold off a late game comeback by Providence to claim the 77-66 victory.  Jessi GIles led all scorers with 36 points, Morgan Koepsell added 12 points off the bench for the Trojans.  

With the win the Lady Trojans not only extend their historic winning streak to 22 games they also move on to the Round of 16.  

After the opening round games the Trojans move up to the #9 seed and will take on #8 seed Sterling Kansas in the Round of 16 on Thursday.  Top off is set for 3pm.  We will have that game for you on Jammin’ Country 103 and online at AmazingMadison.com.

When the Lady Trojans take the floor on Thursday it will be the first time since 2008 that the Trojans have appeared in the Round of 16.
