DSU Football Loses to Dickinson State

Dickinson State’s defense smothered the Trojan’s, and led the Blue Hawks to a 27-7 win over Dakota State on Saturday at Trojan Field. Dakota State committed a turnover on the first play of the opening drive. Matt Anderson forced the fumble and the Blue Hawks recovered at the DSU 16-yard line.

Dakota State’s defense held Dickinson to just a field goal after the fumble, as the Trojan defense tried their best to keep them in the game. Dakota State intercepted three passes, and forced a turnover on downs. But Dakota State turned the ball over 4 times themselves, and could muster just 95 yards of total offense in the game.

Trojan quarterback Cameron McKeon was 6 of 14, for 52 yards and a touchdown. Gavin Holland ran for 40 yards on 10 carries.

Dakota State fell to 2-3 on the season, and 0-1 in the NSAA standings. Next up for the Trojans is a trip to Valley City next Saturday, to take on the Vikings.
