DSU Ends Weekend 3-1, Veenhoff Gets 200th Win

This past weekend, the Dakota State volleyball team traveled down to West Palm Beach, Florida to play in the Chick Fil-A Classic. The Trojans finished the weekend 3-1, and Head Coach Amy Veenhoff won her 200th game at DSU.

In the first on Saturday, the Trojans suffered their first loss of the season to the Loyola Wolf Packs in four tight sets.

The Wolfpacks won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-20 before the Trojans won their first and only set of the game 25-22. Loyola then closed it out in the fourth set, beating DSU 25-23.

In their fourth and final match of the weekend, the Trojans had better success against Georgetown than they did against Loyola earlier in the day, finishing the weekend strong. DSU routed Georgetown in three sets, winning the sets with scores of 25-9, 25-19, and the final set 25-12. 

The victory over Georgetown gave Head Coach Amy Veenhoff the 200th win with the Trojans, where she holds the most wins in DSU volleyball program history. 

DSU will return to the Midwest this upcoming weekend when they travel to play in the Doane Triangular in Crete, Nebraska this Saturday, August 27th.Â
