DSU Basketball Splits To End Regular Season

The Lady T’s of DSU completed a perfect NSAA basketball season Thursday evening, rolling to an 86-75 victory over Bellevue in the battle of the top two teams in the league. It was the Trojans’ first regular season sweep over the Bruins, and first win at Bellevue since December of 2017.

Dakota State extended their historic school record 18th consecutive victory, raising their overall record to 22-3.  The last time the Lady T’s recorded 22 wins in a single season was in ‘05-’06 season.  DSU also earned its perfect conference schedule with a 14-0 record, becoming the third squad to finish undefeated in the North Star conference play since the league formed in ‘13-’14. DSU Women will host Presentation on Tuesday Evening in quarterfinals of the league tournament.

On the Men’s side, Dakota State was unable to hold on to their lead in the second half, falling to Bellevue 73-62. The Bruins outscored the Trojans 20-10 in the final 6:52 of the game to secure the victory. Dakota State awaits to hear on which opponent they will play on the road in the opening round on Tuesday evening.  The Trojans will play either Viterbo or Valley City State, depending on the outcome of the Valley City/Dickinson State game tonight.
