DSU Basketball Finishes Weekend With Sweep of Waldorf

Following a sweep against Viterbo on Friday, Dakota State men’s and women’s basketball finished the weekend with two victories against Waldorf.

The women’s team reached a new season-high in points in a blowout against the Warriors, 114-59. All five starters scored in double digits, including Jessi Giles’ game-high 21. Savannah Walsdorf had 20 points and Else Aslesen had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. The 114 points scored tied the second-highest scoring output in a single game in DSU history. The women are 18-7 and 8-1 in North Star games.

The men had three starters carry the scoring load and edged out a win, 72-71, over Waldorf. Lamarr Wood, Jordan Lynn, and Berto Gittens combined for 57 points. Lynn also had five steals and Gittens pulled down nine boards. The Trojans are 11-13 and 6-3 in North Star contests.

This weekend, DSU continues the second half of their NSAA schedule on the road Friday and Saturday.
