Dakota State Softball Ends Tucson Invitational With Win in Second Game of Doubleheader

After dropping the first gameĀ  of the doubleheader by double digits, the DSU softball team ended a losing streak in their final game of the Tucson Invitational.

Hastings College scored at least one run in six out of the seven innings in the 21-8 win over the Trojans. The Broncos’ Lauren Schneider had two doubles and drove in seven runs. Carrington Entringer went a perfect four-for-four in the game, with three singles, a double, and three RBIs.

Alexus Foster hit a two-run home run in the second inning, DSU scored three more runs in the next three innings, and held on for a 5-4 win, beating California Lutheran in the second game. Xotchil Lopez picked up the win, tossing six innings, allowing five hits and three earned runs. Madison Aldendifer pitched the last inning, earning her first save of the season.

DSU will have a week off and host Dakota Wesleyan for a doubleheader on March 24th, starting at 3:00pm.
