Dakota State Baseball Outscores Presentation College 33-7 in Weekend Sweep

The Dakota State baseball team outscored Presentation College 33-7 over the weekend in a four-game sweep of the Saints.

Chris Burke delivered a two-run home run to tie the game, Mason Macaluso walked which scored a run, and Walker Hultgren singled home two more runs, asTrojans won game one on Saturday. Mitsuki Shimonishi allowed two hits and struck out 10 over seven innings in the 2-0 game two win, earning his fourth victory of the season. Seth Altwine and Macaluso each drove in a run.

DSU scored eight to start game one on Sunday and finished with a 13-0 shutout over PC. Burke had two more homers in the win. Nicholi Arbach struck out 11 in six innings. Five pitchers helped the Trojans to the victory in game two, allowing just six hits and three runs. Macaluso finished off the day with a three-run home run in the 9-3 win.

DSU earned their first ever NSAA four-game series sweep since the league formed in 2013.

The Trojans are 22-9 and 9-3 against North Star opponents. Dakota State will host Mount Marty tomorrow afternoon.
