Zach Brooks Preparing for Week One

As the Dakota State football team gets ready for this upcoming season, Quarterback Zach Brooks finds himself in a position too potentially be the starter for the Trojans come Week 1.

Brooks played in seven games for the Trojans last season, throwing for over 700 yards and six passing touchdowns. He feels that having the in game experience he acquired a year ago has helped him prepare for this season.

He mentions that one of his strengths is his knowledge of the game along with his overall football IQ, while also saying that wants to continue working on his overall mechanics.

For a quarterback, one of the more important aspects is being on the same page with your skill positions players. Brooks and his receivers put the work in before fall camp to help make sure they are all on the same page, so once camp arrived they could get rolling.

The first game for the Trojans is less than two weeks away now, when they take on rival Dakota Wesleyan at home in the 7th Annual Ag Bowl. Brooks is hoping that when the first game starts, he will be the man under center for DSU.
