A Week Away from the Ag Bowl

One week from today, the Dakota State football team will run out onto Trojan Field for the first game of the 2022 season in the 7th Annual Ag Bowl against rival Dakota Wesleyan.

The winner of the Ag Bowl will be able to hold bragging rights over the other, which can be important when it comes to recruiting. Trojans Head Coach, Josh Anderson, says that the rivalry between the two teams isn’t bitter, but it is still a good rivalry.

Anderson still recalls the first time he beat Dakota Wesleyan, as it was a very memorable moment for him in his career at Dakota State.

Last season, the Trojans faced a lot of adversity, like going through four starting quarterbacks, and still managed to go 6-4. For this season Anderson would like to see his team continue to build on that culture they had last season, and also to see the Trojans put themselves in position to have success.

Kick off for the Ag Bowl will be at 7pm next Thursday, August 25th, and the game will be aired on FM 103.1 for those who aren’t able to make it out to Trojan Field.
