8 Trojan Throwers Compete in Red Raiders Invite Yesterday

Eight throwers for the Dakota State women’s track and field team competed in the Northwestern Red Raiders Invitational.  

Britni Plucker led the Trojans with a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw, tossing 142 feet, 8.75 inches. She produced that mark on the third attempt and advanced to the final round. 

Kiana Mounga placed 10th after throwing 136 feet, 5 inches in the hammer throw for DSU. Bella Maxwell followed up with a 12th place finish with 133 feet, .5 inches and Oliviyah Thornton with a 13th-place finish with a 130 feet, 5.75 inch toss.

Traia Hubbard posted a hammer throw toss of 125 feet, 2.5 inches to place 17th. Alexis Olson added 114 feet, 1.75 inches.

Gabriella Peitzmeier threw 97 feet, 5.25 inches to finish sixth in the javelin throw for the Trojans. Lahna Matucha made her debut in the event, recording 80 feet, 3 inches to place 11th. Olson added a throw of  21.95 72 feet, .5 inches to finish 13th.

Dakota State continues their field events action on the second day of the Red Raiders Invitational, including the shot put, discus throw, high jump, triple jump, and long jump. The first events are set for 11am.
