2022 NSAA Football Coaches Preseason Poll

The coaches in the NSAA Conference voted Dickinson State as the unanimous favorite to win the conference for an eighth straight year in the preseason coaches poll. Dakota State was picked to finish fourth in the conference.

Coaches could not vote for their own teams in the poll.

Dickinson State tallied six first-place votes after collecting 36 points to top the preseason poll. Dickinson State captured their seventh straight NSAA football conference title in 2021 by going undefeated in eight league games.

Dakota State finished fourth in the preseason poll with 22 points. The Trojans are coming off of a season where they went 6-4 overall and 5-3 in the NSAA, good enough for third place. With 12 starters from last year’s team returning (7 on offense, 5 on defense), DSU will hope to do better than the fourth place preseason vote they received.

DSU opens their season on August 25th at home versus Dakota Wesleyan, and then will play their first NSAA game on October 1st against the preseason favorites Dickinson State.
