Tuesday Night Area Baseball Recap

Playing in their fourth game in as many days, the Humboldt/Hartford Legion squad picked up a walk-off win versus Volga on Tuesday night. Volga scored all seven of their runs in the top of the fourth inning, taking a 7-3 lead. Humboldt/Hartford slowly chipped away at the deficit, plating two runs in the home half of the fourth, a run in the fifth and a run in the sixth to pull within one. After a one-two-three top of the seventh, H/H got a lead off walk in the home half and a one out single from Cooper Maras drove in the winning run, making the final 8-7. Carson Wittrock scored three times and teammate Isaiah Colon drove in a run and scored twice to lead the Humboldt/Hartford offense.

 

 

In amateur baseball, Lennox used a late surge to defeat Dell Rapids PBR in Cornbelt League play. Trailing 8-5 heading into the ninth, the Only One Alpacas erupted for 10 runs on their way to a 15-9 win.
