SDHSAA Rules On 5-Class Football System

Argus Leader –

A Five-Class High School football system is coming to South Dakota, but the fine details are to be determined. The South Dakota High School Activities Association board of directors voted Tuesday to authorize the SDHSAA to reconvene the football advisory committee for the purposes of designing a new five-class system. The proposal from that meeting will then be voted upon by the state’s athletic directors before being passed on to the board of directors, which will conduct a first reading during its June meeting. The second reading would occur in August.

Meanwhile, the board also decided to honor the 48 teams that made their respective State Basketball tournaments this winter. Teams will recieve plaques to recognize their accomplishments.
