Madison Moves Past MCM In Region 5 Boys Action

After a slow start on Friday night from both Madison and McCook Central/Montrose, the host Bulldogs used a 27-6 second quarter effort to pull away, on their way to a 59-32 win. Madison punched their ticket to the Class A SoDak 16 with the win. 

Both sides missed a bevy of shots in quarter number one, despite decent looks. Cody Brown, who finished with a game high 27 points  scored 13 of those in the second quarter. Madison was able to get out in transition in the second quarter, as well as the third, pushing their lead to over 30 points in the third frame, creating a running clock.

MCM was led on the night by Issac McCormick, who finished with 12 points. The Fighting Cougars ended their season at 11-11, while the Bulldogs improved to 16-5. Madison will take on Red Cloud on Tuesday in Chamberlain, with a 6pm tip.
