Howard Falls to White River in SODAK 16

In the SODAK 16, the Howard Boys basketball team fell to White River by a final score of 72-51.

In the opening quarter, White River used a balanced scoring attack to take a 17-10 lead after one. Nicholas Marshall for White River added eight points in the second to help extend their lead over Howard to 35-24 heading into the half.

The Tigers came out in the second half and made a run to cut the lead down to four midway through the third quarter. 

However, White River used another balanced scoring quarter, and a big rebounding edge to power their way to a final score of 72-51.

Joe Sayler, SDSU recruit for White River, had a game leading 22 points. TJ Beardt added 19 and Marshall finished with 12 points.

Leading the way for Howard was Kolt Koepsell, who scored 15 points. Luke Koepsell had 13 for the Tigers, with Colby Claussen right behind him with 12 points.

With the win, White River goes to their 18th straight Class B State tournament and improves to a 19-4 overall record. Howard, meanwhile, ends their season going 16-7 overall.
