In a region 4B matchup on Monday night, Howard and Colman-Egan each picked up a victory with the Hawks winning the girls game 56-43 and the Tigers cruising to a 71-27 win in the nightcap.

A modest 7-0 run in the second quarter of the girls game gave the host Colman-Egan a little bit of breathing room and they would keep Howard at distance for the rest of the contest. C-E (now 5-2) shot 44 percent compared to 33 percent for Howard, who dropped to 2-2. Kenedy Koepsell had a game high 22 points to lead the Lady Tigers. Meanwhile, a trio of Hawks players scored in double-digits, led by Josie Mousel’s 18.

The second game saw Howard jump out to a 16-0 advantage to begin the game, never looking back on their way to victory. Tisyn Spader hit six three-pointers and finished with 26 points to lead all scorers. Howard hit 11 three’s in the game and shot over 60 percent from the floor. The third ranked Tigers improved to 5-0, while Colman-Egan is still searching for the first win.
