Flyers With Two State Champions at Class B Meet

In the SDHSAA Class B State Track and Field meet this past weekend, the Chester Area Flyers had two individuals that grabbed two state championships along with breaking school records.

For the boys, Chester’s Jovi Wolf defended his state title from a year ago by again being the state champion in both the 200m Dash and 400m Dash. Wolf ran a time of 22.93 in the 200m and also re-broke his school record time in the 400m Dash with his time of 49.03.

Wolf also was the runner-up in the 100m Dash with a time of 10.91. 

With his performances this weekend, Wolf was named the Class B Outstanding Male Athlete at the State Meet

Emery Larson was also a state champion for the Flyers, winning both the 1600m Run and the 3200m Run over the weekend. Larson’s times were 5:07.18 in the 1600m Run and 11:15.27 in the 3200m Run. 

Larson also broke her own school record in the 800m Run with a time of 2:19.94, placing fourth in the race. 

Other Flyers to compete in the finals days of the Class B meet were Jacy Wolf for the Lady Flyers, placing fourth in the 100m Hurdles with a new Personal Record of 15.82. She also placed third in the 300m Hurdles, clocking a time of 48.18. 

The Lady Flyers were the State Runner-Up, while the boys team for Chester finished in 11th place.
