Flyers Break Two Meet Records

The Chester Area track and field team participated in the Scott Underwood Invitational earlier this week. The meet, held at South Dakota State University featured over 33 teams from South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa.

As a team the Flyers girls team placed fourth at the invite while the boys finished 17th. The Flyers also had two event champions who were able to break meet records. 

For the girls, leading the way for Chester was Emery Larson, who placed first in the 1600 meter run with her meet record time of 5:06.08. 

Larson also placed second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:22.43, and helped the 4×400 meter relay team earn a fourth place finish. The 4×400 relay team of Jacy Wolf, Emmerson Eppard, Addision Bates, and Larson ran a time of 4:22.96.

Wolf earned a second place finish in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.12. Lexi Sieomonsma placed seventh in the shot put with a throw of 34’ 0.5”. 

Jovi Wolf for the Chester boys team finished in first place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.81, which is a meet record time. 

He also ran the 100 meter dash, placing eighth with a time of 11.53. 

Next week’s Chester Booster Club Meet has been canceled, but the Flyers still plan to attend another meet on that date, Tuesday, April 11th, that is still to be determined.
