Both teams were able to get double-digit hits, but a strong start from the Flandreau Cardinals helped them to secure their victory against the Canova Gang. 

The Gang got a run to open things up in the top of the first, but the Cardinals answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first, followed by five more runs in the bottom of the second. 

Flandreau got three more runs in the fourth before Canova got back on the board with three runs at the top of fifth. 

It was 11-4 heading into the seventh, before Canova got five runs in the inning, bringing them within striking distance of the Cardinals, with a score of 11-9 now. However, the Cardinals held off the Gang and got three more runs, winning the game with a final score of 14-9.

Cardinals outhit the Gang 19-11.

Nate Kneebone led the way for the Cardinals with 4 RBI, which played a big part in the Cardinals victory. Kneebone also had two runs on three hits. 

Bret Severtson had two hits, two runs, and two RBI’s for the Cardinals, Beau Severtson had two runs on three hits, and Michael Witte and Luke Gassman each had three runs on two hits. 

For Canova, Derek Miller had two runs on two hits, and Kendall Gassman brought in two runs as well. Riley Gunslinger and Justin Miller both also had two RBI’s, one hit, and one run for hte Gang. 

This Sunday, Canova will be looking to get back into the win column at home against Dell Rapids PBR, meanwhile Flandreau will be heading down to play the Humboldt-Hartford Wood Ducks.
