Flandreau Cardinals Get Shutout Win Over Colman A’s

It was not a high scoring game, but the Flandreau Cardinals were able to use two pitchers to throw a shutout against the Colman A’s in route to their 11th win in Cornbelt league play. 

The first runs of the game from the Cardinals came in the bottom of the second inning, before going cold for four innings. They then got three more runs in the bottom of the seventh, extending their lead to 5-0, which was also the final score. 

Flandreau had 11 hits compared to five hits and two errors from Colman. 

Dallas Schneiderman got the win for the Cardinals on the mound, pitching seven-innings and throwing nine strikeouts and giving up four hits. Deon Entringer for the Argali didn’t have the same success, giving up five runs on ten hits. Entringer did throw four strikeouts. 

Grant Heib, Aiden Ladd, and Brian McGuire each had two hits for the Cardinals, and McGuire added to that with two runs scored. Other batters to get a hit for the Cardinals were Jacob Patterson, Nate Kneebone, Bret and Beau Severston, and Luke Gassman. 

The Severston’s also scored runs, with Bret Severston bringing in two runs while Beau Severston scored one. Beau Severston had three RBIs as well. 

Deon Entringer led the Argali in hits with two, followed by Carter Roach and Tim Kuphal each with one. 

Flandreau will be in Madison on Thursday to take on the Broncos, while Colman heads to Dell Rapids PBR. That game can be heard on KJAM-FM 103.1 Thursday evening at 7:30pm.
