Dell Rapids Has Eyes Set on 11A Title

A year after falling short in the semifinals, the Dell Rapids Quarriers have punched their ticket to the 11A Football State Championship in the DakotaDome. The Quarriers don’t have a single blemish on their record, after going 9-0 in the regular season and winning games against Lennox and Sioux Falls Christian to get to this point.

Dell Rapids Head Coach, Jordan Huska, said that the reality that his team made it to the state championship hit almost immediately following a 44-26 win over Sioux Falls Christian in the semifinals.

Huska credits the student-athletes and how hard they have worked coming off of last year’s loss in the semifinals that has allowed them to reach this point.

The Quarriers haven’t been to the state championship game since 2018, last winning in 2014. For Huska, to win it all this year would be exciting because of what it would mean for his players.

West Central will be no easy game for Dell Rapids, as the Trojans come in 10-1 on the year, though Huska did mention that the two teams know each other very well and that it should be a good game.

Kickoff on Friday, November 11th will be at 7:30pm in the DakotaDome in Vermillion, SD. Game can be heard on FM 103.1 or at AmazingMadison.com.
