Cornbelt Action From Sunday

The Colman A’s used a four run sixth inning to defeat the Wood Ducks of Hartford/Humboldt on Sunday at the Entringer Field of Dreams in Colman. Hartford/Humboldt scored first, getting an RBI double from Austin King in the third inning. Fast forward to the bottom of the sixth, after a ground-out, six straight batters reached for the A’s. Chris Meyer had a two-run single, Ian Barker and Jordan Sehr had back to back RBI doubles in the big frame. Colman would add a run in the seventh and eighth innings to come away with the 6-1 win.

Elsewhere in the League, Canova exploded for a 18-3 win over the Mudcats of Dell Rapids. The big blow was a ten-run fourth inning for the visitors. Derek, Justin and Jared Miller all homered for the Gang, Jared drove in five runs to lead Canova.

Flandreau continued its hot play in the latter stages of the regular season, picking up a 12-1 win over Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks, in eight innings. The Cardinals have won four of the last five league games.

This is the last week of the regular season for Cornbelt League play, the District 4B Tournament begins next Friday, the 24th, in Dell Rapids
