Chester Area Sweeps Flandreau to Start Season

In their first matches of the season, the Chester Area Flyers swept the Flandreau Fliers in three sets.

Chester got out an early lead and taking control of the first set and won it 25-12. The second set had similar results to the first set, with Chester topping Flandreau 25-14.

The third set, Flandreau tried to avoid getting swept to start the season, but Chester was able to maintain their lead, despite a strong showing from Flandreau, with Chester getting the sweep in three sets after winning the third set 25-17.

Chester Area’s Senior Kaylor Geraets and Freshman Emery Larson both tied for the game lead in digs, with 12 each. Junior Addison Bates had a game-leading nine kills for Chester.

Junior Claire Sheppard of Flandreau had six blocks to lead the match, and she also tied for the team lead in kills with four.

Both teams will be back on the court tomorrow, with Chester Area hosting Ethan and Flandreau traveling to Madison. Both matches are scheduled to start at 7pm tomorrow night.
