Both Chester Area and Howard girls basketball teams got victories in their games in the Huron Holiday Classic yesterday.
Chester Area played in one of the first games of the day, and the Lady Flyers got a dominating victory over Mitchell Christian, winning 68-31. The Flyers had three girls get double-digit points, with Emery Larson’s 24 points leading the way. Jacy Wolf and Emmeson Eppard each had 16 points.
Howard also had a big win in the Huron Holiday Classic, winning 54-31 over Lyman. The Tigers were led by Kate Connor, who had 17 points, along with Abby Aslesen’s 14 points. Aslesen led Howard in rebounds with five.
The Flyers improved to a 2-2 record before heading into the new year, when they host Dell Rapids St. Mary on January 6th.
The Tigers, meanwhile, have extended their winning streak to four straight while improving their record to 4-1. Their next game will be at Menno on January 3rd.
