It was day two of the Arlington at Oldham-Ramona/Rutland showdown on Tuesday night in Ramona. The two girls side had played against each other on Monday night and then it was the boys’ turn. A tight first quarter saw the visiting Cardinals hold a slim 10-6 advantage. A couple of big threes, combined with a stout defense allowed Arlington to build a 27-12 halftime lead. The second half saw the Cardinals continue to distance themselves from the Radiers, eventually leading by 28 points. The final was a 68-44 win for Arlington. They were led by Ryker Erstad, who had a game high 26 points. ORR’s Kadyn Gehrels dropped in 20 points in the loss.

Both teams will be off until the boys Entringer Classic on the 31st of the month.

 

In a wild match-up between McCook Central/Montrose and Chester Area on Tuesday night, a tale of two halves resulted in a victory for Chester Area. Both teams spent a half shooting poorly and another over 50%. The Flyers rallied to outscore the Cougars 20-5 in the third quarter and eventually won 53-47. Stratton Eppard shot 11 for 24 from the floor and finished with a game high 30 points for Chester Area.
