Salem Defeats Castlewood In Amateur Ball

The Salem Cubs picked up a non-league victory last night in SD amateur baseball, 7-2 over Castlewood. Salem led 4-0 after four innings, riding the pitching of Tyler Earls. Earls went 6 strong innings, gave up 4 hits – 8 strikeouts and 2 walks. Jon Forster went 2-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBIs. Cory Struck drove in a pair for the Cubs.
Salem moved their record to 2-2 on the season. They begin Cornbelt play on Sunday at the Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks.
