Rory Zillgitt, age 62, of Wentworth, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 16th at his home.

Rory Lee Zillgitt was born April 14, 1959, in Jackson, MN to Rodney & Janice (Larson) Zillgitt. He graduated from Chester High School in 1977. Not long after graduation, he married Brenda Baartman on September 23, 1978, in Colton, SD. He made his home in Wentworth and still lived there at the time of his passing. In 1981, Rory started working at T & R Electric in Colman and worked there until a work-related accident resulted in his retirement in 2009.

Rory loved to play drums and played with a local band called “Reck-N-Crew” from 1974-1989. He also loved to go fishing, was in bowling league, played on “Happy Hour” softball team, riding motorcycle and painting outdoor scenes such as mountains, rivers, leaves and waterfalls.

He will be missed by his wife of 43 years, Brenda of Wentworth; three children, Ryan Zillgitt of Wentworth, Neisha (Josh) Bjorklund of Wentworth and Shawn (Kelsea) Zillgitt of Tea, SD; six grandchildren, Rilynn Zillgitt, Brayden, Braxton & Brittyn Bjorklund, Rogen & Knox Zillgitt; one brother, Bryan (Lana) Zillgitt of Madison.

Rory was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kelly.
